Gone are the days when you could simply go to some back alley photo id guy, or have some kid in your class make an id for you. Some people are still under the impression that you can simply have someone alter your id or make you an identical fake id. This simply has not been true since the mid to late 90's (Depending on what state you live in). By that time all the states began adopting much harder to fake driver's licenses and started implementing both high security holograms as well as a second, smaller photo with age information printed over it (so it can't simply be changed in photoshop). The old "alter the legitimate id" method doesn't work anymore, and hardly did back then. Firstly you'd have to rip off the laminate (A fifty / fifty chance that this would completely ruin the id altogether), then you'd have to alter the birth date information. We've received several of these and the year of birth was blatantly raised way above the rest of the id (from white out and typing over it). I doubt even someone who's never seen a US id before wouldn't think something's funny about it! As far as making a fake id, most people look for free fake id templates and then try to enter their own information in photoshop. This has numerous flaws, such as the hologram (very expensive to try to fake), the template itself is probably a very bad copy that looks nothing like the real state photo id, and the fonts needed. Most people arent even aware that many states have their own secure fonts for their ids, to try to stop you making a fake id. So what can you do to get a fake id that actually looks 100% authentic?
